This project profiles leaders who take action in the face of uncertainty, personal and professional risk, and oppression; who value innovation, assessment and evaluation, and learning and reflection; and who lead in regions beset by political turbulence, economic uncertainty and recurrent natural disasters. These leaders have shown that the poor can both earn and lead, and also that social movements can be catalysts for economic development and empowerment.
In putting this resource together, we have been inspired by innovations in equity, resilience, health, education, agriculture, and income generation that contribute to lasting change for tens of thousands of people.
