Transformational Change Leadership is entirely about the future. It is about the exercise of leadership to arrive at a desired future state. We must pay attention to those leaders who have come before us and how they have approached transformation in their own contexts, to learn from their efforts. But leadership evolves over time as the context in which we do our work shifts, giving rise to a need to examine new knowledge and the possibilities of new collaborations.
It is therefore important to examine processes over time, with a look backward, to the present, and ahead to what challenges and opportunities might arise in the future. This section presents a contemplation of how leaders may look forward in a very different world from the world in which they first began working (Moving Forward). It presents a second section with leaders who are rising into this framework and who will be ripe for collaborations that catalyze impact (Emerging Leaders).
